One River Mississippi continues to send ripples throughout communities up and down the River. Angela Hammerli, Plaquemines Parish choroegrapher, has won recognition for her work in the local schools using dance to teach kids about the One River Mississippi project and taking care of the River.
Joedy Cook of Ballet Quad Cities received one award from the Chamber of Commerce last fall, and another award from RiverAction in April.
Our New Orleans choreographers Barbara Hayley and Monique Moss were recognized last December by Gambit Magazine with the honor of Best Performance 2006. You can see the Gambit Magazine page that features the award (scroll down the page). From the article:
